I wonder if anyone else had the same thing as me. My daughter who is nearly 4 goes to nursery and there has been 3 occasions now that she has not been invited to birthday parties. She has been to 3 but the other 3 were for children that i thought she was friends with. Im worried that she is not popular

does she have a particular close friend? girls tend to have close-nit groups don't they

I wouldn't get upset about it (unfortunately now is the time you have to start letting go a little and can't wade in there sorting it out)

there have to be limits to numbers otherwise it gets ridiculous and most likely the parents of a soon-to-be 4 year old will ask the kids they are friends with the parents of, and then ask their child who else they want to be there the kid will probably say the names of the last few children they've played with.

although if you really are worried you could ask some children back on playdates or ask the nursery staff how she seems to socialise
