I don't know if this counts but there was a thread last week about Hever Castle which I believe is not far from London but I'm not sure if it is in your direction.

Loads of mums recommended it and I'm taking mine there over Easter. They apparently have an Easter trail or something which I'm trying to find out more on but can't access their website at the moment. I also asked about good swimming pools for a toddler and was given some advice (another thread but can't remember title) which you might want to try. The advice was in London but not North. Sounded easy to get to on the Tube though. I'm going back to my swimming pool thread next week to find out where it is.

It's Surrey way, well Sussex, so not good for N London - but a great place, I've been a few times. The Easter trail is on all four days - we'll be there. Used to live in Herts and am moving back so will prod my friends for ideas.

Lisalisa - you could try Willows Farm in Herts (www.willowsfarmvillage.com)- nice day out if the weather is good. My dd's favourite place is Gullivers World nr Milton Keynes - theme park for the younger kids. Have you looked at www.netmums.com/southherts? This has good ideas...

I would recommend Woburn in Beds. - stately home, safari park and very good indoor and outdoor play area. Also, Wimpole Hall, off the M11 - National Trust stately home with home farm (lots of animals) and very good children's play area with ride on tractors etc.

Lisalisa, have you tried Beaconscot model village in Beaconfield, Bucks or Odds Farm - again in Bucks? Beaconscot is really great for the age group you have and is fairly 'contained' too. I haven't been to Odds Farm but it has been highly recommended by lots of people and we will be going over the next few weeks.
