neighbours and their tree

Our neighbours have a massive tree in their front garden. It is so big that is stop our Sky TV from working on and off, like now, when kids are home from school and are going doo-lally about it. The dish is as high on the chimney as it can go! There are also wood pigeons who live on purple berries and shit so much all over the car that we can't park on the drive as the car handles are covered in shit everyday. They say they can't afford to prune it back, even if we split the cost and a tree surgeon won't just trim our side and the top as it makes it lopsided and dangerous and we can't afford the whole thing either and why should we?

Anything else we can do? A small but annoying problem of bird shit and sky tv.

Can you afford to pay for it to be chopped down? That might be a cheaper cost which would assure the problem never occurred again. It would also kill the roots which may start messing with your drains if it is really such a big tree.

We inherited a huge tree with this house. The previous owner had never done anything about it even when asked nicely by one of the neighbours.

Anyway when we bought the house and the neighbour asked if we could cut it back DP, along with the neighbour, did it. At the time we couldn't afford a tree surgeon as there was so much to do on the house so it was the only option.

They were very careful over safety obviously and had some idea of what they wre doing.

Is this an option in your situation?

Thanks all, no way we could do it ourselves, no proper equipment and it is twice the size of the house and to remove the whole thing costs three times as much.

Norbert - I love your name and I like the lorries too, beats Eddie Stobart hands down!
