They were in Saturday's Guardian - a warts and all article (which really wasn't). They are such an odd couple.

I was amazed that Judy is 57, and Richard is 49. In the pictures accompanying the article she looks much, much older than him. I think he has some Dorian Grey thing going on.

Can't see what she sees in him really. She is very bright and he....isn't.

Ah yes, but he does that great impression of Ali G, moo. It'll be that keeping her interested.

(I only read it online so no pics.)

I think there's some kind of mummy, nurturing type thing going on there.

Actually It's refreshing to see a couple that have lasted as long as they have.

Well it's been years since I watched R&J (when they were still on "This Morning") but she is not ageing well and he doesn't seem to have aged a bit. No justice in the world.

he's the 'butt in' king - ignornat git!

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 23:19

Apparently he used to call her his "Mummy" when she first took him under her wing at Granada.

I loved all the swearing in that article (childishly). I can't imagine Judy Finnegan saying 'f**k'.

JoolsToo · 17/04/2005 23:19

or ignorant!

wouldn't YOU age married to that pratt! (ah he's not that bad really!)

bubble99 · 17/04/2005 23:21

marthamoo. As someone who sings 'Twinkle Twinkle' to her DH every night I think you're well placed to comment.

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 23:23

Honestly, bubble, I tell you something in confidence....

snafu - I thought that, it's like your mother saying "f*ck!"

He deffo has a picture in the loft that looks REALLY wizened

JanH · 18/04/2005 00:07

Nah - he just has good bones and tight skin, the bastard.

We have a friend who is nearly 70, he whizzes around town on his bike all the time, he was knocked off it a few months ago and the young PC sent to deal with the situation reported him as being about 40 - he's the same type. )
