I'm not wrong to be a bit narked by this am I?

Before half term (about a fortnight before) I signed up to a course about child confidence with school. They said childcare would be provided for DS.

It was meant to start last week, I had heard nothing (the woman said she would contact me), so assumed it was cancelled, which I didn't mind as I was going to cancel my place anyway.

Tonight DD comes home with a letter informing me that the course starts at 9 tomorrow morning. I am meant to take DS to a complete stranger childminder across town and leave him there to come back and do this course

a) I haven't met the woman
b) HE hasn't met the woman - he is three
c) I now have plans for tomorrow (with school ironically)
d) They tell me the day before, by letter sent home with a child, when they have my home and mobile number.

I have called and cancelled the childminder (very very apologetically and politely explaining it), and will be cancelling the course in the morning as I don't have a number for them.

Seriously - these people work with children and families as their job, and yet think this is a good idea?!?!?!

You're right to be narked, thats terrible, what exactly were they going to teach you, how to make sure your kid is confident when left with a complete stranger with no warning

Tis about making the other one confident, and presumably laying the groundwork for repeating the course in a few years with the abandoned child
