colour schemes.......................................................please help me

decorating my bedroom this week, its a small room and small window everything is blue at the moment as we swapped rooms with ds to give him the big room (he s 2!!!!)
any ideas on a colour scheme thats not too overpowering??? but modern.

What about a neutral colour for the walls/ceiling/carpet and then coloured accessories (duvet, lightshades, cushions, pictures etc). That way you can chop and change the colour scheme as you like without having to redecorate the entire room.

One of my friends has beige and pistachio green and it's lovely. Another friend has taupe and it's gorgeous with a deep rug on top of the cream carpet and super modern, minimal accessories. Mine is duck egg blue and beige damask, probably not what you're thinking about though .
