signed up and paid a deposit on a new kitchen at MFI last week. salesman told us fitting charge would be £950.00 and that the fitter would come out first to discuss and clear up any details.
Fitter has just been and told us that fitting the appliances and covering up some pipes were not included in the price and it would be an extra £450
He has only just started work for MFI and thought we should have been told. Also said that if it's the case with any of the other jos he's going to he won't be working for them very long!
we are gutted, we could only just afford it as it was

I would contact MFI and get them to clarify this. Not trying to suggest he is ripping you off but if MFI realise they might loose this sale they might be willing to help you. Its wortha try.
I got a kitchen from B&Q last year, we were quoted £3,000 for them to fit it. Needless to say, we fitted it ourselves!

My husband is a carpenter and charges £35 a unit, which works out a lot cheaper. See if you can get a carpenter in your area to give you a quote, you can buy a mfi kitchen without having it fitted by them.
