help, tips and lots of ideas needed

i am asking you for help with ideas for a fund raiser on behalf of my mum (am me ) to raise money for our local haematology dept.
she has a serious blood comlaint which she has to have 2/3 pints of blood every 3/4 weeks she would like to raise some money for the depatment as a thankyou and we would be most greatful if you are able to help us with some ideas.

i know about asking for permission etc and health and safty eg St. Johns Ambulance but we are stuck on what to do.

we want to do something that will catch attention, thats different and nost of fun that anybody could join in!!

i ve thought about doing a mile long conga around our local lake (which is 1.3miles and flat all around) but thats about all i have at the moment im not very good at thinking of ideas!!!

so please if you have any ideas my mum and myself would be very very greatful,

Cake bakes? People make cakes, take them into work (or invite people round) and sell them for £1 a slice. We do them at work each year and raise £££. Not that different, but everyone likes cake.

sounds really good but we sort of want a bigger event (i dont mean to sound rude please dont think that)

Could you organise some sort of a relay?

You have a lake, which is flat (good start) and a good circumference...

But rather than ONE congo, why not get teams and have people do laps (however many they can manage?) so the event can go on all day?
