MAS! HIPPI! Over here......

Thread wouldn't allow me to add a message - too full - so hope you don't mind me starting in 'Other subjects' again???? I guess we didn't discuss where was the best home for us...

Sorry you're poorly Hippi Hope you're being looked after well at home?

Good news about your dad MAS. It's always a worry when something is found health-wise, but it sounds like he's doing all the right things. Dh's Aunt was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, she is a very large lady though, who does no exercise at all, so more your usual candidate I would think. She does like her cake, which drives my MIL(her sister) absolutely wild. MIL is a stick insect who walks miles and miles for fun so she doesn't understand how hard it is for B to change the habits of a lifetime. I get on better with the aunt TBH

We had a fab PTA meeting this morning. Loads of good ideas and a lot less cliquey than normal. The chair wasn't there so we went to another member's house, and it was really relaxed and friendly. Gorgeous house BTW!

B had swimming this afternoon. She's been put up again, but it sounds like they've put her in the wrong class, so I'll need to sort it out with the staff member on Monday... B is a bit nervous it wont be her lovely hunky spanish instructor who gets in the pool with them, as am I!

Hello

Nope, I am looking after myself as dh is still in Leeds.
But O and E are being gorgeous so not too much hard work needed

Hotcross, tell me how it works at B's swimming (seeing as O and E's lessons will run on along the same lines after Easter) - What happens when a child is put up a class, do you get allocated a new day/time? And what if that day/time is not suitable?
And how do they ensure there are spaces in all the groups to allow for the constant movement of children?

I am with the rotund cake loving aunt btw
But only because my fave aunt is like that (her fave saying is 'oh yum' before diving into a platter of treats )

Oh will post here too, so Hippi gets an answer about the swimming!

I'm still quite new to the swimming system at our pool, so don't really understand it or know all the details.

So far, there should be no more than 8 people in each class, and they wear a coloured hat to show which level they are. Theoretically they should move up as soon as they are ready for the next class. Assessment seems to be continuous with no wait to 'do' badges/certificates. However, we had the situation last week where 12 people turned up for B's lesson and the teacher struggled manfully to cope... They have moved some up, some sideways I think and others have remained in the same class. We were given a choice of 2 days, don't know what happens if you can't manage them

It's good that there is constant movement as soon as they are ready, but the system depends on the paperwork being kept in good order. I get the impression that the person responsible for it at our pool isn't there a lot or terribly conscientious. Hence possibly getting B's new placement wrong.

Will keep you informed!
