ah, we can only do 1000, so here's the new one, hope you find it !

Morning

Hope your appointment went OK yesterday MAS, and they didn't blind you with science too much. I think that having a sensitive consultant makes all the difference. How are you feeling about it all? In a whirlwind I should imagine... We are here though, and thinking about you all the time, and wishing many many positive wishes.

How are you feeling Hippi? Hope you're managing to cope with work alright. How did O's bike ride go?

I'm tutoring in a bit. Have a lovely fun lesson planned, but it's taken hours and cost a fortune in resources, so even dh can see it's not financially a good idea. Also there's no guarantees the little boy will want to do any of it

I had to go and wake B this morning at 8:15. She's gone to school in a rush, and is still dozy. Poor thing. Her fault though as she wouldn't go to sleep last night...

Will be back on here later I'm sure.

MargaretMountford · 03/06/2009 10:16

really hope that the tutoring goes well today Hotcross - and also hope that you are feeling better hippi.
Thanks Hotcross for kind thoughts - both of you have been great...yesterday was fine..oncologist says that it'll start in a few weeks and will be 16 sessions, over 3-4 weeks,10 mins each day.The first session is for planning and marking. I am worried about just how much of each day will be written off !
T went to my parents after school as we were at hospital and they whisked him off to a market/garden centre and then took a circuitous route home so I wasn't sure where they'd got to. It'll be his French day trip the week after next which is very exciting, but means a very early start !
Hope O managed the cycle ride btw !

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 03/06/2009 11:52

Hello you two
Glad to hear the hospital appointment went well. Treat yourself to a few good books to read during radiotherapy - my friend said she sometimes could not wait for the next session as she wanted to know how the story continued
Tutoring does not sound financially viable. Is it worth havign a word with the mum - ie explain to her what you have had to buy for her ds in order for you to do this and ask if she is willing to contribute?

O got to school fine yesterday. E and I went in the car, parked and walked straight to O's school just in time to see him walking into the playground pushing his bike.
The caretaker took all the Y5 bikes and locked them up in the pool
The after school bike club was a great success, O loved it
I felt really really bleurgh yesterday. Did go to work though. But had a streaming cold. Managed to work all day looking forward to relaxing on the patio after school only to find E was bringing the class bear home so I had to take lots of photos and help her write in the diary. She did a lovely page though with pictures of her and Barnaby on the slide, on the trampoline, playing with cars and inspecting the strawberry plants
Feel a bit better today. Have just come back from work and am grabbing a quick sandwich. Back this afternoon for the French Listening exam, and then whizz E off to gymnastics after school.

Hope you are both having a good day.

MAS, if you have not already bought the cats, can I please change teh colours?
Little S's favourite colour now is blue, and E has fallen for purple.
Girls - fickle things!

MargaretMountford · 03/06/2009 19:29

glad to hear that bike club was a success !
no probs about cat colours - I have lots of them !
Glad you are feeling better too

Hotcrossbunny · 03/06/2009 20:18

Gosh! That is onerous MAS. Each session is much shorter than I imagined, but all the waiting around/travelling will definitely eat into the day. TBH I think I'd probably mentally write off the next few weeks, and not get worried about things that aren't getting done. Your health is way more important than anything else ATM. Also I would think that a slower pace of life for a bit will let your body recover faster IYSWIM?

I've just realised I very rudely didn't answer about the cats/ballerinas I can't decide which B would like best, am wondering if the cats would be a bigger hit??? Would it be a pain to change my mind? Be honest, because I'm sure she'd be equally thrilled with either. Oh, and may we have the purple chain too please?!

Glad O's biking went well, Hippi. Another wee step towards independence Why is it just when we fancy a relaxing time, somethings happens to stop it? We had the bear first term, fortunately he hasn't been sent home again. It's very cute but a bit of a bind! Glad you're feeling better BTW

Tutoring was OK. A bit unsatisfactory, and all a bit strange, but I survived and M seemed to enjoy himself. Still don't know if I'll carry on with it though. The mum seems happy so far - maybe I just doubt myself too much?!

The PTA sold ice lollies after school which went down well. Not a huge huge profit, but worth doing I think. Father's Day sweets are the next endeavor!

Right off to immerse myself in the Apprentice. Am rooting for James I think

Hotcrossbunny · 04/06/2009 09:58

Quick hello before I go out. Am mystery shopping this morning - very exciting

What a relief the cooler weather is - I actually feel like doing a bit of housework, rather than flopping around saying it's too hot! Dh broke a glass this morning. He did brush it up, but I must do an indepth hoover round. Very boring.

Hope you both have a good day.

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 04/06/2009 10:24

O wow, mystery shopping, how exciting!! I looked at doing that, but was worried they would ask me to do awkward things such as returning items or making a complaint to a shop - am useless with things like that; get too flustered
Have just been to vote, and have cleaned the bathroom. Need to walk the dog and have lunch before heading off to invigilate this afternoon.

Have a good day both of you

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 12:17

I thought about mystery shopping too but never got round to it ! It is nicer that it's cooler,I must say. Have been to Sainsb. to do a small shop - not the full load as dh will go on Sunday, which is kind, but I will do a proper shop next week. Roughs for job posted off too. Will go and vote on the way to collect S and H from school...though who for I have no clue !
If I get a chance I will try to do necklaces this w/end or next week..so for Hippi it's a blue cat and a purple cat and for Hotcross a cat rather than a ballerina ? on a purple chain..Hippi would you prefer purple too ?
And Hotcross - which colour cat ? (light pink, dark pink, I don't think there are any blues left after Hippi's one, yellow, orange, red, green or purple)
Could you both email me your addresses too ?
Glad the tutoring was ok Hotcross - I'd play it by ear.
T left his planner at school yesterday and was distraught..drove him back there but the school was closed (only discovered this after 5pm) so he couldn't go into his final classroom..hope he finds it today !

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 04/06/2009 12:30

Oh, poor T - hope he finds it today.
I encountered my equally unhappy nephew in the corridor at school yesterday after invigilating - he has been moved down a set/group (?) in science and was not happy. Apparently it means that due to timetabling methods they also have to move his maths group so he is having to get used to new classes/friends 7 weeks before the end of term. Seems a bit mad.

Oooh, I am all confused now - purple cat on purple chain? Maybe not. Purple cat on red chain? E is not keen on red....
Will stick with purple chain and go back to funky orange cat if you still have one.

E had a lovely time at gymnastics yesterday, I saw, for the first time, some lovely interaction between her and a few of the other girls And after tha half hour of floor exercises they all split into groups to take turns on the vault and the beam. E did a confident run up and jump onto the vault. And a very wobbly walk along the beam. They were also asked to do a roly poly on the beam (it has a sligthly wider padded bit for this purpose) and the coach had to grab E as her roly poly went sideways off the beam. 'Twas funny

Right, I better go and get ready for another session at school. I have huge blisters caused by sweaty feet (bleurgh ) in unsuitable shoes.

Back later

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 12:43

I'm confused now !
purple chain and orange cat for E and what is the other one ?
poor nephew but am impressed by the gymnastics.
T will certainly learn to be more diligent in packing up his things.

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 04/06/2009 17:00

Purple chain, blue cat Sorry to confuse things

Have just come home to a huuuuge (ikea blue big bag thing) full of clothes for E from my friend D. (her youngest is a girl in Y5 with O) They have a static caravan in France to which they go every holiday, and she must have had a clear out over half term. Lots of shorts, two lovely Mini Boden halterneck tops, one Mini boden halterneck dress, two swimming costumes (both unworn with the labels still on ), shorts, skirts, pyjamas, vests, t-shirts etc. Most from Next or a French brand (she likes the French hypermarket clothes)
Am in heaven sorting through it all. It ranges from size 6 up to 10 (her dd is 10 this month). It is like Christmas

Invigilating was fine today, back again tomorrow. Only 3 more days between now and the 22nd June and then it is all over for this year

MargaretMountford · 04/06/2009 17:32

ok !
how exciting about the bag of clothes !!
T's planner was rescued by a friend and given to him this morning, so phew ! he'd've been in trouble and it has all his homework details/merits etc in it and we'd have had to buy a new one for the last few weeks of term too (is an elaborate book)
Happy invigilating tomorrow

Hotcrossbunny · 05/06/2009 16:49

Ooh I love getting clothes for B to look through. I like that they're not all this seasons clothes so she doesn't look like all the other little girls. Sounds like there are some lovely things in it

Glad T got his book back. So much to remember...

I'd like a dark pink cat please on purple chain. Sorry for confusing things. Not the best decision maker

Had a lovely coffee with lovely mum from school this morning. It was a hoot - we laughed and laughed. It's always nice when someone 'gets' you. I love going to her house, it's so relaxed and friendly, and not at all showy and glitzy, just a comfortable, welcoming family home

B is at a friends for tea, so I have a nice long afternoon with no school pick up. I don't seem to have got a lot done today though...

MargaretMountford · 05/06/2009 17:22

dark pink cat - excellent choice !
now, you must both email your addresses ! xx

MargaretMountford · 06/06/2009 11:46

all ready to send !

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 06/06/2009 17:04

Oh my word, that was quick!! You'd better email your addy too so we can pay you!

How are you feeling by the way?

MargaretMountford · 07/06/2009 09:35

I've put my address on the reverse of package !
send your hippi and I can get to post office prob. on Tuesday. Am fine btw,thanks...tired after a long but nice day on the Thames - it was a good friend's birthday party- cruising from Kew to Tower Bridge and back..came home and straight to bed ! Hope you are both having a good w/end

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 07/06/2009 11:03

Did we agree on £5 per necklace? I will send you the cheque as soon as I receive the parcel

Am fine, still full of cold. Did not do much yesterday. E had her swimming lesson.
Today O has drama club and then we need to visit SIL because it will be her birthday on Tuesday (but we are busy Tues and won't get to see her)

Right, will head over to email.

BAck later

MargaretMountford · 07/06/2009 20:36

can't remember what we said about money but am sure that's fine, if that's ok with you two
Sorry to hear that you are cold ridden still..hope it gets better v soon.
T has had his main birthday present in advance of tomorrow - a fab microphone for adding vocals to his compositions - he has already made a few tracks and they are fantastic (not meaning to boast but he is really, really good !) Am thrilled that it's been such a success - we thought he should have it so that he could set it up today, rather than everything being a rush tomorrow.

hippipotamiHasLost33Pounds · 07/06/2009 20:48

Oh wow - well done T!!
And happy birthday for tomorrow!

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/06/2009 23:04

hey I'm back to my usual name ! Am so sad Margaret is leaving The Apprentice though..
T loves his present - I'm so pleased ! Thanks for birthday wishes too

I was worried about what you would do (name wise) now that Margaret has left....

I hope T has a fantastic day today. I suppose they don't celebrate birthdays at secondary school do they?

I have emailed you my address. I have copied hotcross in on it too. And I have put my new mobile number on there too. Yes, believe it or not, as of yesterday I have a mobile phone
There were 3 occasions over the past week during work and a birthday party where I really could have done with having a phone. So dh took me out yesterday to buy one. (a basic Sony Ericson on a pay as you go plan) I am trilled to bits with it

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/06/2009 11:00

yay - a mobile phone - v useful though..I never remember to switch mine on !
T is taking sweets in tomorrow as it's tutor time then, rather than today. He has a bit of homework to do this afternoon before celebrating . Am quite glad to be MAS again, much as I love MM.

Happy Birthday T! His present sounds fab

Am about your trip up the Thames. We've usually done a canal boat trip by now, but can't afford it this year We walked up some of the Basingstoke canal yesterday and were talking about our need to go on a boat. Think we must rent a rowing boat next time we're in Guildford!

Sorry you're still suffering Hippi. Colds can really take it out of you. Exciting news about the mobile though! Are you up to texting yet????

We were in your neck of the woods yesterday. B had a party at Little Angels, so dh and I escaped to Homebase near you and then for a drink at the pub in Worplesdon. After the party, we all had a browse round The Lightbox, and B made a lovely black and white copy of a photo of a volcano. It was a very chilled way to spend a day!

I'm about to bake a lemon drizzle cake, so will be back when it's in the oven.

hippipotamiHasLost36Pounds · 08/06/2009 11:29

Oh Hotcross, we were in Sainsbury's yesterday, next to Homebase, we could have bumped into eachother in the carpark!

It is almost as if this cold has come back for 'round 2' - I am full of green gunk again, my sore throat is back and I feel hot and clammy. Bleurgh!

Am very about my mobile phone. And I have been texting!! 'Tis so fab

Have just come back from a brisk dog-walk, am now going to have a coffee and sort the laundry.

Yum at the lemon drizzle cake. I have had to stop baking. I find I can easily say 'no' to shop-bought cakes but find it impossible to not eat something I baked. (yes that sounds a bit big-headed but is not meant like it)

Right, coffee is calling
