If one wishes to pay someone with a First Direct account, then can you take cash into HSBC to pay into their account or does it have to be online transfer?

I can only get cash out in time and so if I can't pay the cash in somewhere that accepts payments to First Direct accounts, then I won't be able to do it!

Can't see any reason why you can't just go into HSBC and pay the cash into their account with a normal paying-in slip.

HSBC paying in slips (the ones you fill in completely yourself, not the ones in the backs of chequebooks) are fine for First Direct accounts - I do it all the time. HTH.
