How many threads is this now?

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/04/2009 09:20

Ooo sorry about the flat ref Zeb
what a lovely sunny day to have no kids around and not much to do...alright - lots to do but who cares!

Berrie · 20/04/2009 09:23

Can I just say that the carrot cup cakes in the Times on Saturday by Gordon Ramsey are lovely and worth making though I don't like the topping much.
Berrie passes out the last ones before she eats them all!
here

Berrie · 20/04/2009 09:25

I want to watch it a third time but I want the proper dvd that Lyra has with the extras.

Berrie · 20/04/2009 09:26

I think that the actor who plays Jacob did the gawky 15 year old stuff quite well but I can see him being sexier later on...

oggsfrog · 20/04/2009 09:39

You can see him being sexier? He's too child-like. In New Moon Jacob needs to really bulk up and mature.
I rented dd a dvd from the library called Sharkboy andLava girl and the lad who plays Jacob was Sharkboy...looking about 10yrs old.

Berrie · 20/04/2009 09:46

No I meant can't ooops!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 20/04/2009 09:56

Berrie!

I can't see him suddenly growing to 7 foot or however tall he's meant to be.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:06

Zeb, you're right about the movie. RP is very wrong for Edward (not nearly good looking enough) and Rosalie and Carlisle are wrong. I liked Emmet and Jasper and Alice though.
Oggs, I agree that your Jacob would have been better. Perhaps the film-makers should have left the casting to us, eh?
Today I will be taking the boys for a picnic lunch (they're still off school - inset day) and then maybe more painting.
My fitness regime starts tomorrow. Cut down on wine and start exercising. I'd start today but I'm going to the pub with some friends tonight

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 20/04/2009 10:14

Mine starts today.

I signed up to the leisure centre on Saturday and have my induction later. I also get membership half price because I'm, errrm, a public sector employee (but let's not go into too much detail about that!).

oh. I'm still looking for work, but there are a few possibilities out there.

And RP just didn't have the right charisma. Still easy on the eye though.

oggsfrog · 20/04/2009 10:16

Lyra. I'm starting today. Again.

I think Rob Pattinson is not classically but quirkily good looking. He's definately grown on me.
I need to see the film. I wish I'd seen it at the cinema . We only have a small portable tv which is bad enough, but when it is widescreen there is only about 5 inches of depth to see .

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:44

RP is handsome in HP GoF but not so much in Twilight. Instead of making him pale and interesting, the make-up people made him grey and scary. Agree wholeheartedly about the charisma. Where was it? And Zeb, did you get the feeling that the love story was largely missing? If you hadn't read the books you'd have no idea why they were suddenly declaring undying love when they'd spent all of three minutes together.

Berrie · 20/04/2009 10:44

We were meant to be starting today but we forgot to weigh in, hence the carrot cakes. i have cut out 14 each blobs of wobbly fat and stuck them on the wall. They are to represent 1lb each and we can take them down as we loose the lbs. Dh saw them and muttered, 'kids, your mother's finally lost it.'

Trouble is I can't really exercise. I could probably walk up to school in the afternoon but not the morning.

I didn't tell you but we stopped drinking at new year. However last week when we had the big row we fell off the wagon. We are hoping to get back on track... Anyway, almose 4 months of drinking made no difference to our weight and we were not as rich as we thought we'd be either. Can't say I felt much better but I did feel very saintly.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:47

Da maaan

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:50

Blimey, you kept that quiet Berrie. Four months? I'll be lucky if I last four days.

oggsfrog · 20/04/2009 10:51

Wow Berrie. That's fantastic Well done you both.

Berrie · 20/04/2009 10:52

Thanks Lyra!

Berrie · 20/04/2009 10:52

For the vid I meant.

oggsfrog · 20/04/2009 10:54

I never realised that song was Muse... Is it in the film?

Berrie · 20/04/2009 10:54

yeah it's not though because we fell off. I feel our power is draining away...

I suppose I didn't want to make proclamations of what we were going to do only to look silly later but we look silly now so it doesn't matter.

Also I didn't want to make you all feel bad!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:56

No Oggs, it's not in the film but Supermassive Black Hole is, in the baseball scene.

Berrie · 20/04/2009 10:57

I love that one!

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:58

Spermassive Black Hole

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 10:59

Oops, unfortunate spelling error.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 11:06

Please forgive my attempts to convert you all to the Church of the Almighty Muse. I'll stop now.

MatthewBellamysMuse · 20/04/2009 11:14

I just cut my own hair into a chin-length bob. Looks pretty good.
