With pointy teeth

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 20:30

Isn't he a little dark-skinned Oggs, given that Edward is supposed to be ghostly pale?
I wonder where Zeb's got to.

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 20:32

After seeing the film I re-read a few chapters and luckily my own book Edward banished the rubbish film Edward.

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 20:34

Tomorrow, my tongue and groove goes in in the bathroom, then hopefully the suite will be fitted on Wednesday and Thursday. I've ordered one of these from eBay which will fit in just nicely.

oggsfrog · 06/04/2009 20:34

I'm still working on him Lyra ... I just needed to get rid of the film version .

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 20:37

Make sure you're sitting down comfortably for the next few chapters Oggs.

oggsfrog · 06/04/2009 20:44

I've just made myself a coffee with Baileys in it and warmed up a wheat pad (my fingers are freezing) .

EdwardCullensWife · 06/04/2009 20:52

Enjoy!

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 08:47

Oggs, we are awaiting your verdict

Berrie · 07/04/2009 08:58

No no noooo Oggs, that man is too pouty
I think the biggest shame about the film Edward is that he is a poor actor and he doesn't have enough authority. I know he looks 17 but he needs to have a little more wisdom and authority given his actual age.

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 09:04

And charisma and charm. Those were missing too.
I read an interview with Stephenie Meyer and she thinks RP gave an Oscar-winning performance. Er, no. he didn't. Not even close.

Berrie · 07/04/2009 09:11

That too.
To be fair it's a tough gig...Edward is everyones kind of perfect.

I hate the way he keeps calling her 'love' in the last book. I guess it might sound quaint to an american reader but it jars as it's sounds more like my Dad to me!

Berrie · 07/04/2009 09:13

I looked at the disk in Asda yesterday but it didn't say anything about outtakes, just a voiceover by Sm, RP and ...the girl. Is it the right one?

Berrie · 07/04/2009 09:14

Tee hee, my indian shoes came today. They look lovely, are made of hand stitched leather and were about £7 but although they are not 2 left feet...they are both the same foot...kind of straight.

oggsfrog · 07/04/2009 09:15

I didn't actually start reading again last night until late, then I stayed up until 1am.

I was up to Chapter 19 and had to decide whether to stay up and finish the book or to reluctantly put it down and leave some for today.

I saved it for today . Have to plan an earlier than normal shopping trip so I can go to Tesco and get the next ones.

Hope they have them in stock .

Berrie · 07/04/2009 09:30

I think they'll only have the last one Oggs.

Now she moves!

oggsfrog · 07/04/2009 09:31

I'm actually really struggling with my mental image of Edward after seeing the Pattinson boy.

The reason I'm using this particular one is that he was in a kids film I saw and portrayed the perceived bad boy who was shunned and feared yet was surprisingly intuitive, gentle yet very strong and just bloody gorgeous.

I'm also getting images of Edward Scissorhands popping up in there and Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd (he has the pallor bang on in both of those).

I can't get his hair right. He has black hair in my head and I keep having to adjust mentally when the bronze colour is mentioned.

I'm also struggling to see him in the fawn/beige colours she keeps putting him in.

I've got my mental Bella nailed and she is actually an amalgam of the screen one, a young Selma Blair (I think this comes from the character she played in Hellboy ) and for some reason Michelle Ryan.

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 09:36

Glad you're enjoying it Oggs. I knew you would. But are you in love?
You're lucky, you have another three and a half books left to read. I've read them all twice and can't justify a third time. Actually I'm re-reading Midnight Sun for the second time but once that's over...
[sob]

Berrie · 07/04/2009 09:38

Good question Lyra...
?

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 09:39

I hated him calling her 'love' too Berrie. It made them sound like a middle-aged couple.

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 18:42

Where are y'all?

oggsfrog · 07/04/2009 21:03

Sat in a corner, rocking and pulling my hair out.

Turns out my email problem isn't a problem with the new server but a corrupt profile on the computer.
I need to create a new profile and work out how to transfer all my files, programs emails etc onto it...

To add to that I'm very, very, very nearly at the end of Twilight

I'm stuck in tomorrow as we've got a visit from our architects and someone from the planning office. The earliest I can get to town is Thursday.

What to do, what to do...

I can re-read Twilight or knit a mandrake.

EdwardCullensWife · 07/04/2009 23:00

Oggs, read Midnight Sun. Twilight from Edward's perspective. Very enlightening. It will keep you going till you can get out to buy New Moon.
The link to it is on this page.

oggsfrog · 07/04/2009 23:12

Thanks Lyra. Haven't had chance to finish the book yet (I've really only got a couple of pages) but will definitely have a look when I do..

I've spent the last couple of hours spitting at the computer. I've managed to set myself a new profile, but all the settings are wrong and I'm getting all the ads in here which is unbearable, and the fonts are all wrong .

oggsfrog · 07/04/2009 23:38

Got rid of ads... still got crappy font...

still. having. problems. with. email.

need to bath yet, but bathwater gone cold

dh went to bed over an hour ago
