Why am I so clumsy? Anyone else? I'm fed up.

I honestly can't remember the last time I didn't have at least 3 or 4 nice big bruises on my knees and shins. I get some new injury every day. At least one.

It's nothing too bad, but when you add it all up it's really starting to get to me.

It's because I don't look what I'm doing. Do I just need to concentrate more? One thing at a time, sort of thing. What would help me to do this? (I have 2 children under 3 - when do I ever get a chance to do one thing at a time? )

I bruise very easily which doesn't help I suppose.

I'm fed up with always hurting myself and I'm fed up with always having black and purple and red bruises blooming all over.

Can anyone relate? I know it's not really a big deal, but I'm fed up.

Totting up current injuries I have
A bruise on each shin
2 bruises on my right knee
A big burn on my thigh
2 bruises on my arm
a scrape on my back
A swelling wrist
Both thumb nails bent down so far they have black blood lines half way up (2 separate incidents).

Is that normal?

Have you always been like this or is it some thing new... maybe tiredness makes you less able to concentrate..
are you eating properly..
how are you health wise? I'm not sure if easy bruising means you could be anaemic..

I've always tended to be a bit clumsy yes, but I've definitely got a lot worse over the last few months.

I am tired I suppose, but not unusually so. In fact ds is sleeping better at the moment than he has for a while.

Diet's fine.

Amaemia possible - have always tended towards it.

Dp is always saying I am clumsy .. I have always bruised easily and ALWAYS have a couple but not as many as you are suggesting. Are you like this the whole time or just from time to time? Some women get clumsy some time around their periods I believe so perhaps it is hormonal!

AliceTheCamelHasGotTheHump · 17/02/2009 18:14

I think it has been hormonal in the past, but I've only had one period in the last 3 years (been either pregnant or breastfeeding) so I don't know if it's that.

I don't think it does sound normal tbh
especially the burn and swelling wrist
could you have an inner ear infection which is affecting your balance?

AliceTheCamelHasGotTheHump · 18/02/2009 11:08

Yes, always at home.

Maybe I just need to concentrate more.

When I was a kid my parents were always shouting at me to watch what I was doing.
