As one who has just had Windows crashing and corrupting, can I urge you each to take time out to back up your precious pc files, photos etc. Spending a weekend fretting as to whether ds was ever going to see his stories and homework again was not an experience I would like to repeat in a hurry. I think they would have been recoverable somehow but fortunately we don't have to go through that hassle.

It's something I keep meaning to do.....but don't know how. I used to get messages saying "make recovery discs" or something like that....any hints & tips on how to do it will be much appreciated. I'm not pc literate and I find it all mind boggling!

I just copy files via My Computerin Windows . Select the folder (ie My Documents) click on the folder or file to copy and there should be an option to do so on the left hand side. You have to state where to copy to (ie cd or memory stick drive). You can do a more general back up routine too but not sure how.

Sounds easy enough, I know once I started to do it but it said I needed 8 DVD-RW, which i didn't have at the time...but do have them now.
