Backing up hard-drive - any PC techies out there?

Can anyone advise on the most efficient way to back up our PC hard drive on a regular basis. At the moment all I do is copy our numerous photos (dh takes loads of photos as a hobby so they grow on a weekly basis) onto a CD every few weeks or so but this is clearly not efficient as you can't do incremental backups.

We have a zip drive but how does this work? Althernatively are there any sites that provide webspace for backups? What about backup software?

i dont know exactly how zip drives work (dh is the techie in the family!) but the easiest thing i could suggest is investing in an external hard-drive/disk that would connect to your pc via USB and it would also plug into the mains, and then you can back-up data on that. unfortunately, i dont know what the going costs are for those...

good luck.
