I had an idea today, unfortunately a little late on in the snow, but I would like to suggest that when kids are snowed off school again, we encourage them to help clear pavements (as well, of course, as giving them time to enjoy the snow). There are so many icy pavements locally and nobody has cleared or gritted them. All it would take is for school kids to do an area as a team and it would make a huge difference.
