Do you have a cleaner?

I'm thinking of getting a cleaner, never had one before but just not managing to keep the house clean what with work and the children.

Do you have a cleaner? Are you happy with them? How much do you get them to do? Do you fine yourself cleaning before they get there lol?!

Anything else you want to add?

Thanks

Sarah

Yes I have a cleaner. I have 13 month old twins and without my cleaner I would drown in mess etc. I tidy what I can before she comes because I want her to clean rather than tidy. She's amazing though. What she gets done in 2 hours is far more than I could ever do!

used to have one. paid £15 a time for 2 of them to come in and blitz the house. used to keep it tidy in between. had to give them up when i went part time though- can't afford it anymore

I have a cleaner from last wee- started a new job and a colleagues au-pair wanted some cleaning work. Pay her £5 an hour to clean our house and do an hours ironing and she is brilliant.

Trefusis, why aren't you working on your thesis?

Earlybird · 04/04/2005 21:15

yes, she comes once a week for 2 hours, and I pay her 16pounds - which may sound alot, but I'm in central London. Well worth it!

vickiyumyum · 04/04/2005 21:19

couldn't live without my cleaner. shes excellent, does a far better job of cleaning in a few hours than i do in a whole weekend.
she comes twice a week, changes the beds, and takes my ironing away with her and brings it back on the next visit.
i pay £8 per hour and if i could afford it i would pay more just not to lose her.
i don't clean before she gets here but i do have a quick tidy round the night before so that she can get on with the cleaning straight away!

no

wangle99 · 04/04/2005 21:21

Mmm think I'll definately consider it then - how do you find a cleaner? Is it mainly word of mouth? Or do you advertise?

I'm sinking into a disgusting mess I think - I definately need help!

Yes and will never not have one!
2 hours a week for 15 quid.

I keep the house tidy all the time, and clean the kitchen as I go, she does the rest.

God bless her.

I love coming home on a Monday after she's been.

sansouci · 04/04/2005 21:24

Good for you, trefusis. Am actually envious as the most taxing thing my brain is required to do these days is post on MN...
