i want to sell our leather 3 piece suite, i hate it and i never wanted a leather suite in the first place but dh insisted.

now i have spotted my dream sofa so the old one has to go but i have no idea how much to sell it for.

its almost identical to this suite, but was more expensive, about £1700 iirc.

our suite is 2/3 years old but was in storage for a year before we used it so its in very good condition, except for a few tiny scratches where the cats clawed it.

how much should i ask for it?????

Bumping for you.

stick in 'for sale' and I might be interested, depending on where you are.

Put it on ebay, then think of the lowest you would take for it and set that as your reserve.

I ordered the ones in the pic but they came 2 months too late then didn't fit in my door

pavlov- im in surrey area.

i thought of ebay but decided it would be more trouble than its worth, had some right wierdos buying my stuff recently on there.

i was going to try preloved.co.uk

does £1000 seem like a good price? too high? too low?

OOoohh Surrey, darn my small doors! It doesn't hurt to give it a go at that price - were you thinking of putting it in the paper? Bearing in mind though you can pick up new for little now and many people prefer cheap new rather than second hand quality.

bamboobutton · 21/01/2009 21:50

it does worry me a bit, thats why id rather not do ebay, everyone one wants something for nothing on there.

im going to put an ad in the free ads and the local paper and hope i get a good price.

I don't think there's much of a market for used sofas is there, except on ebay? I have a leather sofa to sell too, but am resigned to the fact that we won't get much for it.

Why would someone buy from you for more than they would have to pay for the same sort of thing on ebay?
