fab idea, unfortunately I live in London, but having been looking everywhere for someone like you, but no-one seems to offer this service near me.

Definately advertise in shop windows (children shops/clubs) as this is where I've been looking.

I think you will do really well, so good luck..How much do you charge out of interest?

mummyof2 · 03/04/2005 19:20

Well i fill a bin liner full of ironing and charge £20 then deliver it back all done in a basket ready to be put away!!

Do you think £20 is too much?

Hi mummyof2. If you like to advertise your service on mumsnet - you can use our classified boards here for a small fee.
Best of luck with the business.

I live in Egham, I do get my ironing done every 2 weeks. I get charged by the hour - £8 which is fine as she also folds all my husbands shirts as he travels away alot, So however long it take for a bin liner of stuff - also depends what is in the bin liner as imagine if you had a heap of linen (nothing I buy is linen) it would take forever to take creases out....

Peckarollover · 05/04/2005 17:00

I run an ironing service too - I charge per item though

Whats ironing ???? - can't remember the last time I switched mine on, I think it was this year sometime.

Good luck with your new venture, I would love someone to do mine for me. My iron is called a Tumble Dryer

pindy · 06/04/2005 11:58

mine to !!!!!!!!

bonniej · 06/04/2005 12:09

tumble drier is brill, but you have to remember to get stuff out straight away and fold or it gets creased. I've saved loads of ironing time since I got mine!

sorrel · 06/04/2005 12:12

Dh does all ours!

mummyof2 · 06/04/2005 18:15

To be honest i just iron my own clothes as i go thats why i dont mind doing other peoples as i know that they just let it build yp into a great big pile and then complain about doing it!

What about handing out flyers at the train station in the morning. Perhaps you could hang round ther say from 7:30 to 8:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays and do pick-up and drop off then... maybe drop offs in the eveneing. So people could just hand you their stuff on the way to work, then you could give it back when they return in the evening (perhaps not the same day). It means of course you'd have to spend some time hanging around the train station. But, it might help????
