How do i get felt washable felt tip pen out of a carpet?

I have just noticed my delightful daughter has drawn a pattern on our carpet with washable felt tip pen

Anyone have any ideas on how to get it out?

Try wetting with cold water and blotting with a clean white cloth to begin with - I'll see if I can find anything better!

From a carpet website, for water-soluble pen:

Clean warm water.
Proprietary carpet/upholstery shampoo solution, used cool.
Surgical alcohol/methylated spirits.

I'm assuming they mean try them in that order, but not all at once! Try not to scrub because it makes the pile go funny.
