Pictochat/Nintendo DS

DD (8) has just had a Nintendo DS for her birthday. I knew that there was a chat room area on it, but I thought that the distance that it worked was very small, so she could just chat to her friends when they were close together. But we've just been talking and she says that it works at some distance, and it's possible that someone up the street with a DS that we don't know could talk to her.

Is this right? We've talked about her not talking to anyone that she doesn't know, but does anyone know how big the working distance is?

Thanks

If she is connected to the internet on it, then I would assume it is anyone

no it isn't right

its in the same house sort of distance

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 17/01/2009 14:56

pictochat is not being connected to the internet

ah no, it says 60 feet

was thinking it was like where you can download updates online, hence the anyone thing

Phew, thanks guys. I'm a bit thick on this stuff! Just need to work out what 60ft is now...

I had no idea that pictochat exsited until I found dd (7) and dneice (4) chatting/drawing to each other on Xmas day from opposite ends of the house.

She had gone into it on her own.

mine have DS's and the Pictochat only works for about 5 houses away from ours so they have chatted to a girl directly across the road once but never with anyone else.
