DS games recommendations please for DD (11)

So I've finally given in and said that DD can get a DS. I don't really like them (I'm quite anti-gadget and think they're expensive) but she's wanted one for about 4 years and I think she's old enough now to buy things like that for herself (with limited use I think though, don't want her glued to the blardy thing!).

Anyway, she's saved up loads of Christmas/birthday/pocket money and we're lucky enough to be buying the console from a friend at a reduced cost, so this leaves her with some dosh for 3 or 4 games.

What games would you recommend for an 11 year old? She's really into science and maths so anything with an educational slant would be good I think, but some fun ones as well. Oh, and no shooty/kill-the-baddies-type ones please.

Prof Layton - lots of puzzles. I enjoyed it, as did DS (9). He had some help on some of the puzzles, but managed to do most of it himself. Some of the puzzles are maths based, some logic stuff - took me about 14 hours to do absolutely all of it, DS took similar but has not found every puzzle.

MArio Kart is fun - you can connect up to 8 DS's at once to play against your friends. DD and DS play together, and DH and DS love playing it too.

42 all time classics - has chess, draughts, backgammon and lots of other games - dots and boxes... is fun but educational too.

professor layton is excellent. Is puzzles, lots of maths, some serious thinking needed, you can download new puzzles each week onto it too.
