How old was your dd when you got her first hair cut?

My dd was born with alot of hair and only a little bit fell out, she is now 18months and has lovely curly hair. But one side is much longer than the other. I am thinking of getting it cut as it is so uneven.

I didn't want to cut it untill she was about 3 but feel that her hair will look odd if I dont. As it is curly you cannot really tell that one side is longer untill you wet it and brush it out.

Do you think I should cut it or not?

DD first had hers cut at about that age. She's now a year older and has had it trimmed several times.

DD1 was about 18 months but DD2 who was a hairy little monkey had to have her fringe cut when she was 4 and a half months as it was in her eyes!

smartie - dd was also very hairy but I just clipped her fringe out of her eyes as did not want to have to maintain a fringe.

We didn't want to cut dd's hair either until she was older but the front was really getting in her eyes so we just had the front trimmed into a sort of sidey-fringe when she was about 2.

You don't have to have a 'do'. Just get it tidied up if you think she needs it.

DD1 was about ten months, she too was born with lots of hair but it was longer around the back than the sides so I cut it myself into a nice bob. She had it done at the hairdressers when she was about 16 months.

DD2 (18 months) has just had hers 'neatened' up by a friend who is a hairdresser.

18 months, and she now goes every 6-8 weeks. she's got lots of hair that grows really fast and i like a short, neat bob on her :-)
