A large dog!

Appartently tea bag soaked in Eucalyptus(sp?) oil left around the garden as they hate the smell works, we were about to try this but then got a dog and she's a fantastic cat deterent........ and birds and squirrels and anyother creature that dares to venture into our garden. She even chases bees and wasps!

Crushed egg shells scattered around works, they hate the sharp edges.

As SB34, orange peel does work, they also hate snakes (not suggesting that for one minute you buy a real one), but my mum always had problems with cats killing the fish from her pond, until she got cheap ones and placed them around the pond, since then she has not had any problems.
