DD has been given lots of Ikea train bits and loves them but we would like to find some more station type elements etc. Does anyone know if IKEA stuff and Brio fit together?

but tesco set is cheaper and also compatable with brio and maybe ikea sets.

Yes

Are these the chunky little wooden sets with the magnetic trains?

Ds loves the set at pre-school; any idea the price of the Tesco one? I imagine the Brio one is quite expensive.

we've still got Tesco trains in our local branch - I know because DH bought the turntable yesterday - £3 - bargain!

My nephew has some ikea stuff and has just been given a fab set from asda. The 2 sets are quite tricky to fit together - possible, but he couldn't do it himself (he's 3). The tesco stuff looks great and is very cheap.
