have you got it set to the right language YG?

Doddle · 25/03/2005 15:28

sounds like your keyboard thinks it's mine!! That's what is printed on my keys but not what they actually do, no idea how you change it though!!

JoolsToo · 25/03/2005 15:32

go to control panel - regional and language options and check its set to English (United Kingdom)

Try changing it to English(US).

Have you changed your version of Windows? I think there have been some reported keyboard layout problems when upgrading versions.

JoolsToo · 25/03/2005 16:14

sounds like you have it configured to English (US) but if you've checked its UK so I'm stumped! sorry!

when you checked it was English UK did it have £ sign in the currency bit?

Jools - if the Techy remark was for me....IF ONLY! Only for photos and other very basic stuff I'm afraid. My machine is slowly giving up the ghost because of a virus and I don't know how to fix it

But nice computer bloke is supposed to be coming round later to fix so fingers crossed.

Will ask him about your problem too Yorkiegirl, if you don't fix it in the meantime.

nutcracker · 25/03/2005 16:25

Mine used to do this too but when i had it wiped cos of a virus, my brother put everything back on and it was all where it should be.

Will ask him later what he did.

Just thought - on Windows XP language is all done on regional settings, but I think some earlier versions have an option within Control Panel > Keyboard as well.

When you say ME, do you mean you are running Windows Millenium Edition? It might be worth looking to see if you have this option.

Hang on - got some notes somewhere

Snugs · 25/03/2005 17:00

aarrrghhh... can't find notes

There should be a dropdown box of available languages and hopefully an option to add more. If you click on the option to add, I think you get another dropdown box - English (UK) should be in there.

Sorry, that is from memory so might be wrong.

You might have to reboot for full settings changes to take effect
