Hi,

After many years of feeling self conscious about my crooked teeth I have finally bitten the bullet and arranged an appointment with an orthodontist.

As I don't fancy looking even more like ugly betty (I would be a very scary lookalike with braces as I already have very similar hair, figure and also wear glasses - eek!) I want to get invisalign braces.

Has anyone had any experience with them and could give me an honest opinion on what they are like.

Thanks!
Abubu

My DH had these and is just finishing his last set. They have been a brilliant success. However very occasionally a set haven't quite fitted on first insertion and he had to wear them a day or two before they clicked into place.

You can also get something called an ALF, which is a fixed brace you wear on the inside of your teeth. This is what supermodels have, I am told. DH started off with one of these supplemented with cranial chiropractic (apparently the two go hand in hand), because his jaw was narrow or something like that.

I dont have much to say about invisaline as i didnt use but i have fixed ones on my lower teeth thta were silver. I used to pick different colours every time which i quite enjoyed.

He did offer to fixed invisable ones on the top but i didnt want to.

I also have a fixed line one on the inside which is fine but does get plaque on it and i cant floss. Also wear a plate once a week to keep them straight.

Have a look at Clear Step they are the same as Invisaline but cheaper. Also have you considered lingual fixed braces, they are the same as "railway tracks" but are fixed to the inside of your teeth not the outside.
