Presents for new mums

My friend's due to have DC2 in the next couple of weeks - probably C-sec so week in hospital. I'm thinking of what to buy her (easy to think of things to buy the baby and DD1!) - what are the best (and worst!) presents you've been given as a new mum??

Best present I could have had would have been sleep! Obviously this isn't possible though - maybe something cosy like a big dressing gown or fluffy socks for those cold late night feeds?

Do you live near to her? The best gifts I received were meals (which ranged from a proper indonesian curry to a chilli complete with tortilla wraps, sour cream etc and dessert!)and offers to take our ironing (in-laws did this for 6 weeks!

How long after a c-section can you bathe? Sorry if that's a stupid question...

• Vanilla Candles
• a gift certificate for a pedicure

Large bar Green and Blacks milk chocolate
(as well as the dark mentioned above if you want). Actually just about any chocolate is likely to be a good idea.
