Suggestions for a small gift for a 14 month old boy, please?

I'm visiting someone today at their home and would like to take a small gift for their little boy aged 14 months. I don't know what to take. We have a WHSmiths, a small Boots, a Woolworths and not much else in town. Any suggestions, please?

14 months? You can never have too many pyjamas! Or a little wooden jigsaw or a book.

Thanks for those suggestions. We have at two small independant bookshops so I'll try them first. One also has some nice childrens clothing.

Just incase you check the threads you have been on today, Buda, I thought I'd do an update. I bought the little lad a really nice book (from WHSmiths as I realised that it needed to be an English language book and the two independants stock Welsh books - doh!) which had nice sturdy pages and different textures to feel on each page. Thanks for your tip.
