hi,
i have a school friend who was recently put in prison for 18 mths for fraud while he worked at a bank, (i havnt seen him for about 5 years so not as if we were close friends) anyway, i have been getting some notifications to my email account that he has been sending me "buzzes" on friends reunited.
Now, what im wondering is can you use the internet in prison or can some one else be sending it for him?
i dont really know about this sort of thing.
was just a bit worried that some was pretending to be him. im not worried if it is from him as i know he went through a lot before hand with his mother dying (although that doesnt excuse him from doing what he did at the bank! we've all got in debt at the moment)so not bothered if he wanted to say hello really.
thanks

i would be surprised if prisoners didnt get net access

If it's worrying you, and you know which prison he is in, ring and ask them. Personally I'd be suprised if he was allowed access.

I think that some prisoners have Very limited internet access in the prison libraries or education suites. But that would be limited to job sites and education sites. I mean completely locked down. If they have it at all.

I suspect that even prison officers don't have friends reunited

thankyou, its not bothering me, i just didnt want some one to be pretending to be him,
i was hoping to see a prison officer today at my work but typically none came in. ( i work for the nhs and we treat a lot of prisoners!)

at work we have limited access to the net, we cant facebook, hotmail, yahoo etc etc! but thats mainly to stop viruses and people going on the net when theyre meant to be working

thanks

late to this thread......asked dp who knows about this stuff.

he said it is unlikely unless he has net access through an education scheme but this will be restricted and supervised, or he could have access through an illicit mobile phone.

have you checked when the buzzes on FR were actually sent. I get regular e-mails from FR telling me i have a new 'buzz' from someone that was sent last year, even though i have viewed it several times and i am in contact with the person concerned who has no need to 'buzz' me.......
