Can somebody who is at home with a copy of Nigella's Domestic Goddess please supply me the ingredient list for her chocolate orange storecupboard cake - I forget to check this morning and need to shop before going home. Whilst Nigella may routinely have all the ingredientsin her storecupboard, I don't

125 g unsalted butter
100g dark chocolate
300g thin cut marmalade
150 g caster sugar
pinh of salt
2 large eggs
150g SR flour
20cm springform tin, buttered & floured.

SoupDragon · 27/02/2003 12:05

That is, of course, a pinch of salt.

You are a star. Thank you v.v. much.

Do you think we should offer Mumsnet up to the international web community as a far more efficient internet search engine than google?

Quite possibly. Of course the speed does depend on the behaviour of a vast number of small children.

This is getting to be a habit - but I need to shop again and not sure what I need to buy. Soupy are you there (or anybody else)

I'm feeling VERY inedaquate. I NEVER bake anything.

(disapears to M&S to buy convenience foods)

prufrock · 06/08/2003 16:04

You are wonderful. I'd forgotten the eggs (how could I forget eggs!)

that reminds me of the time we were washing up after making the xmas cake to find all the eggs on the counter. I can still remember my mum whipping the cake out of the oven, hurling it in the mixer and the egss and then back into the tin and oven...tasted ok!

I made muffins once and a day later found the butter that I'd melted in the microwave ... They weren't too bad and were completely fat free!
