Is it a new thing to mumsnet? It seems some mumsnetters are taking offense very easily, swearing they'll never return, get lots of sympathy and carry on posting anyway?

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo

oliveoil · 02/03/2005 20:54

I meant their as I had put 'there' wrongly in my sentence. Got friends computer as mine is broken and it has a 'nipple' (apparently) instead of a mouse. Crap. Far too slow.

LGJ · 02/03/2005 21:16

LOL Happy Daddy

You better watch it young man, you are in severe danger of making me like you.

You can be quite funny

mummytosteven · 02/03/2005 21:27

well quite leglebegle (will mail you shortly - think I've got your address shortly)

for whatever reason people sometimes get quite depressed over things that are said, and need some time out/and or lash out a bit because they feel hurt. please remember that these are real people behind the keyboard. some of these people may have huge self-esteem or even serious mental health issues, or other stressful things going on in their life. if you think someone is in the wrong for seeking sympathy fine - you don't have to say something nasty. just ignore the thread.

HappyDaddy · 02/03/2005 21:34

LGJ can't have that, can we?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 02/03/2005 21:35

Agree mts, re real people behind the keyboard and, I think the majority of people who post and say they can't cope with Mumsnet for a bit etc, do so for a very valid reason to them. The site does get overheated at times and I think it's fair enough when people say they've really been hurt by stuff that has gone on.

leglebegle - not everyone on the thread agrees with whhh - see my post and PMTDs.

MistressMary · 02/03/2005 22:30

Oh.

SeaShells · 02/03/2005 22:33
Shock
bathmummy · 02/03/2005 22:35

leglebegle - most feisty and interesting post I have read in ages. I find myself wanting to ask you to stick around and not take too much of a break but I don?t want to risk it backfiring and make others think you are getting some kind of sympathy vote. You rock girl and your posts always make me think and smile in equal proportions even if I disagree with your point of view or stance.
Hang around......please

ps - whathashappenedhere - if you don?t like it, you know what to do

lou33 · 02/03/2005 22:36

legle i think you made your point really well without having to resort to the abuse.

bathmummy · 02/03/2005 22:37

I disagree lou33. As someone who hates excessive use of abusive language, totally see where she is coming from in her choice of language on this occasion, even if a bit extreme.
