i sold my parents sofas on ebay recently, they cost £10k new and were in perfect condition most i got offered was £250

they gave it to their friends in the end, said they would rather give it to somebody they knew than sell it for that! try selling in your local newspapers and other places, everyone on ebay wants stuff for nothing.

We had to pay the council to take away one of our sofas when we revamped the living room. We firstly tried to sell it in the local newspaper (good condition, DFS, removable washable covers, originally cost £700 and we asked for £80) but we got no replies. Then we tried to give it away on freecycle and we still had no replies.

Even the local charities didn't want it, felt really bad about it going to landfill.

How old is it? We bought a 2 year old M&S settee on Ebay last year for £120 - new price £900. We prob overpaid but not by enough to worry me.
