I love karaoke!

Just been to a karaoke party with ds1. None of the kids would do it so..ahem..it fell to us "adults". It's bloody brilliant!

Bf and I did a rendition of "Don't Go breaking My Heart" (she was Elton, I was Kiki) and I did a rather splendid solo version of Tainted Love. Such fun!

Still can't imagine I would ever do it in public public - but after being a bit snobby about it before I am a total convert.

And yes...there was wine at the party...

i went to thai karaoke when i was away, very surreal it was!

I have done it once in my entire life, moo - there was wine at that party too and I did Hey Jude!

When the kids go round town at the weekend they seem to spend half their time doing karaoke - DS1's specialities are Walkin' in Memphis and - er - something else, the DDs say he is fab and they clap and cheer and embarrass him but it doesn't stop him doing it, and he doesn't need alcohol, he just loves performing!

i tried to do it with a group of friends at a pub in Southport many years ago, but we couldn't get a go - apparently if you weren't part of the Southport Karaoke Mafia you didn't get on

i just knew when I saw a title involving karaoke that there would be alcohol somewhere!

I love karaoke too! We had it at my hen night (hired a machine and all the CDs)cos DH wouldn't let us have it at the wedding . It was great fun - by the end, we were all just singing and dancing together - a modern version of singing around the piano - can't beat it!

Confession to make here.

I've won a few hundred pounds through karaoke - I think I've been (over the years) in 5 or 6 pubs where karaoke competitions happened to be running.
And every time I've won 1st prize!

Had a few dagger looks from the regulars sometimes .

I can't sing and wouldn't do karaoke in public, but 41 weeks pregnant and totally sober did an outstanding rendition (if I say so myself) of "Build Me Up Buttercup" at a lifeguard party.

My dh runs karaokes. At first he was a bit dubious because he used to earn his living in a 'proper' band and a lot of his friends are musicians (he thought they would laugh their socks off)but he has been pleasantly surprised. He has met some great people and thoroughly enjoys it. More to the point it filled our pub and we would have been bankrupted years ago without it.

Tomorrow he is providing the entertainment for our dd's birthday party. She is very excited and has been practicing in her bedroom. Shame she takes after me and not her dad!
