Whats wrong with my computer now?!

I've had no sound on my computer for ages now so decided today I was going to sit down and fix it (rather than tidy up!) I tried all the suggestions on the help menu but none worked so I did system restore and now I have sound
But... I now seem to have an large text on the screen. Not sure how to do it, I'm sure its something simple but I can't remember how to fix it! HELP!!!!

go to view on the top toolbar and change the text size from there

Its not just the text I type, its the whole screen appears to big! I know it wasn't like it before I did system restore. Maybe I should try and restore it to a different date if no-one knows how I can fix it.

go to control panel, display and then settings and change the screen resolution there

I tried that, I have 2 options 800 x 600 pixels which is too big or 1024 x 768 which is too small!

Restored it to a later date than I did earlier and it seems fine now. Weird!
