fancy dress help needed for five!

my sister is having a birthday party for her oldest, who will be 16, and she is having it in fancy dress, 60's style.

what am i going to dress 4 kids and me in?!

It's on the 4th of march

Aargh. Mini skirts for the girls? (normal skirts that they've outgrown but can just about fit into?) Flares for the boys I guess- you could do the authentic 60s thing and take straight jeans and insert a triangle of groovy 60s style fabric into the ends to make them flared (). Chain belts of some description and heavy pendants, bandanas would be easy..... I'll keep thinking!

I mean in the 60's!!!! HOT PANTS (or was that 70's then?) Groovey and Peace symbols. Tremendous POT cigarettes for all the kids. Hashish pipe....what else would you need?

see this is the problem.

dh is away from today unto the 7th march so i have no way fo getting about with ds2 in a wheelchair, so can't go rummaging in charity shops, it has to be what i already have in the house. I have a brown leather 60's mini skirt for me, and , er... that's it.

If you are all white, you could put on brown face paint, afro wigs and the wackiest outfits from your wardrobes.

I'm trying to think of TV progs from the 60's with children. Was the partridge family 60's? Long hair and plaits, dungarees lol

probably wouldn't do the brown paint. Just my opinion. But I also thought that you should go as the Jackson 5, think they were more 70s though, which made me think of the Osmonds...
