We used to be advised that it wasn't safe to drink the tap water in our EC neighbours' countries (because they all drank bottled mineral water and their water purification process wasn't intended to provide drinking quality water).....

Is that still the case ? (it's not that I haven't left these shores in the last 20 years, just that I've never revisited the original advice)

Going to France soon and wondered if I can make up 10 month old ds' bottles with french tap water....

Does anyone remember that terrible "sitcom" Don't Drink the Water?

handlemecarefully · 22/02/2005 09:05

Thanks hoxtonchick, I knew someone would know the answer.

Can't say I do Lou, was it outrageously xenaphobic?

was dreadful.

iirc it was set in a spanish hotel opposite a bilding site, and full of disparaging remarks about the spanish

My mother is italian and I grew up going to Italy (from the usa) every summer. We were always made to drink bottled water (hate the stuff now because of it). We (and my childen) are now allowed to drink tap water there. Don't really know when it switched.
