anyone give me advice please quickly...

I have sold something on ebay (only about £11) and I stated it was payment via paypal. The buyer has emailed me to ask for my address and I have told them payment is via paypal no cheques (mainly as it prolongs the sale and means I need to go to the bank..wait clearance etc..)

The buyer has emailed back saying the weren't doing cheque BUT wanted to pay by cash..

What do I do..? Feel a bit pushed into accepting cash and obviously if fake notes etc I would know before I posted the item...BUT anything else I should be aware of..? should I just do it..?

tell them they must send it recorded delivery and then take them to the bank to be checked before you post the item? Also, tell them that they are sending cash at their own risk!

but surely its up to them how they send it as if its lost on route to me thats not my issue..?

yes but they might then say that you have kept the money and not sent the item if it gets lost? if its recorded then they and you will know its arrived safely!

do they actually want to post the cash or turn up on your doorstep?

DON'T let them send cash- you have no way of proving you didn't receive it, unless they come to your house, which is not ideal either.
Point out the bit of yuor auction where it said 'paypal only' and tell them nicely that if they don't hav paypal, they shouldn't have bid, as those are your terms. Give them the date you expect payment by, and tell them you will relist after this date (and file non-paying bidder report).

i agree with each that was the terms if they didnt read it or thought they could change your terms thats there fault

well an email he sent but I only just got suggested postal order...BUT im not sure what to do with it and afaik its a lot of hassel...surely cash is easier..?

I have asked to pay by cash before when paypal has frigged up or no money is in my account but I have cash etc. If you are worried, get her to send it recorded? Or a postal order?

But if you use payapl and there is nothing in it, it just comes out of your bank account anyway.

If you take a PO you have to go to the PO to cash it.

If they send cash there is a problem if it doesn't turn up and it is not recommended that anyone sends cash in the mail.

Just emailed to say its a pita sending cash etc BUT to send it recorded if needed and....................they have just now sent the payment via paypal ....
