If somebody told you they could communicate with animals telepathically, would you think they were absolutely nuts?

i would ask them to tell me what that flying pig who just flew overhead was saying

QuintessentialShadows · 17/07/2008 20:01

She might say "That wasnt a pig, that was a toaster".

now we all know toasters cant fly

QuintessentialShadows · 17/07/2008 20:03

But they can, Lou. As well as Toshiba laptops, at least!

Or dont you remember that flying toaster screensaver?
Or, was that not true? Shoot. My mum always told me not to believe in screensavers and tv advertisements....

i never knew that

explains why i keep brushing toasted crusts off my shoulders though

Hecate · 17/07/2008 20:06

Yes. I would think they had a problem.

I think it can be easy to understand animals - for example, I always know when my cat wants her dinner, she communicates that very well! I think you can get to know an animal and get a feel for its moods, so you can tell if it's 'off it', know what it wants by how it behaves, etc...

But do I think that someone can look into my cat's mind and tell me that my cat thinks we should have the wood based litter instead of the paper based, because it gets stuck in her claws, oh, and by the way, she'd like me to stop switching Emmerdale off.

I think not, my friend. I think not.

But what about Wickan, and animal guides, and guardian animal angels? or what not.

yes. But some people are very good at interpreting animals moods and interacting with them. No hocus pocus to it though, it's all behaviourology, experience and body language.

Hecate · 18/07/2008 07:47

QS I personally do not believe in that, so it doesn't change my opinion. (I don't believe in human 'guides' either fwiw). I respect the right of other people to believe differently, but nobody will ever convince me to embrace that belief for myself.
