LEAP PAD - HELP NEEDED

My DS has a Leap Pad................I know I know I hate them.

My vile SIL bought it for him.

Anyway, he has just gone to play with it and it does the hello bye bye thing but when you press on the interactive bits it just clicks.

I have changed the batteries to no avail.

When I told him I would ask on here, he said good idea the girls will know. He is only 3.5

Anyone have any ideas ??

There's a sort of start emoticon (type thing) on the top right hand corner have you used the pen to press that bit ? I've not got one but have played with them in borders .

If all else fails, read the instructions

I hate the thing so much, I didn't even notice that there was no cassette.

Still gave me an excuse to come on here

Have you got the book's cartridge in place fully?

Has he clicked on the START button on the page of the book? It won't recognise the different interactive bits ont he page until that is done. The START icon will be in a slightly different placeo on each page of the book. Usually starts at the top left hand side of the double page on the first page, moves downwards for each page. Then switches over t the right hand side of the double page.

Which book is he using?
