Are there are any computer Guru's out there? I have just had my computer upgraded to Windows XP (from Windows 98) and to the distress of my son (and potentially my bank balance) have found that most of his games (eg Thomas, Tweenies, Learning Ladder) do not work on this new platform. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you resolve it? Does it mean having to buy new software or is there a way around it. Any advice very gratefully received!

Firstly - I am not a computer Guru so can only talk from personal experience on my machine.

Most older games should run - try the following:
Click on 'Start' and then 'Help and Support'; select 'Music,Games,Videos' 'Games' 'Fixing a Problem' 'Getting an older program to run on XP' and then follow through the suggestions.

If non of the suggestions work you can always try partitioning your hard drive and run part of it on XP and part on Windows 98.

Hope you can follow that - good luck

Micky if you go to start, all programs, then accessories, under that heading there should br "program compatability wizard". Run that and you should be able to run your old discs on Windows XP.

Snugs and Temptress - thank you so much for replying. Temptress, your tips worked on my computer and I am so grateful. My son will be so happy in the morning and I am delighted because we were going on a software hunt tomorrow and now will not need to!
