What do I do about a wasps nest?

There is a hole under the eaves with wasps busily flying in and out. What do I do? Is it safe to leave it or do I need to get rid of it? How? Haven't seen the nest - it may be in the corner of the attic.

Leave it and remove it in the winter when they're all dead.

Personally, I would call the pest control people at the council and ask them what to do / whether they can remove it for you

We had one removed by council pest control people once...they also dealt with our ant infestation. They were much cheaper than private peat control people too.

soory pest not peat!

hairycaterpillar · 15/07/2008 20:29

aarrggh sorry not soory!

Hathor · 15/07/2008 20:31

Do they all die off in the winter then?

We had one once in a tree stump in our garden. I got out a pest control person and he dealt with it easily and quickly.

We had a local pest control out last year for one under the eaves by our kitchen door(was too close for comfort). Cost about £40. The nest gradually disintegrated.
