I got one 5 years ago while living in Ireland when our house was infested with mice. We caught loads (about 25) and then my husband bunged up a small hole where we thought they were getting in. We didn't ever have any more but whether it was down to the sonic thing or the hole, I can't say for sure. We have lived in two places since then (both in the country with plenty of rodents around) but have never had any more in the house. I always have it plugged in.

I was told they won't get rid of mice that are already there but will stop any more getting in, and that seems to be what happened with ours - we caught four after we'd plugged the things in but it's about 8 months since our last one now.

btw - if you do get one, don't look after your DD's friend's rats for the weekend & forget to turn it off - I wondered why the poor things were so jumpy.....

They worked for us, though you do need to have a good spread of powerpoints at both floor-level and countertop level in order to cover tge whole area.
