Should I take a little gift for a 16yo boy and if so what?

Going to lunch tomorrow to my 'perfect domestic goddess' friends for lunch. She always brings cake and little pressie for my ds (4yo) and I take her cake.
But am thinking maybe her ds (16yo) might be there tomorrow cos of the school hols.
Should I take a little pressie for him - or is he too old - or what is appropriate??

I probably wouldn't. Partly because i wouldn't know what to get, partly because I hate giving gifts just coz someone's given to me and partly because I wouldn't expect to see much of a 16 year old if I was going for coffee with his mum, whereas a 4 year old tends to hang around with his mum!

No. I really don't think it will be expected ad you can't know what he's into/

Flapjacks? Or muffins? They don't have to be for him, but I'm sure he'd appreciate them. IME 16 year old boys eat like horses...

But if you took him a couple of Mars Bars and said 'hope you're not too big for chocolate..'

I do this with my 15 yr old niece but I am bringing treats for her younger sisters. Where on earth are you that is already on holiday??? I thought 9th July was early
