Can I take this bikini back?

I bought a bikini from Oasis maybe a month or so ago.
I wore it in Italy this week (3 days).
Rinsed it every day
Hand washed it at home
Dried on line

However its gone horribly sticky where some of the print is coming off, and has a yellowish tinge to it.
I am thinking bikinis are like a wear once thing, as I seem to get thru them, but my friend was horrified that I wouldnt take it back.
I dont have the receipt but they still have it in stock so know its this season

Take it back! It doesn't work properly!

piratecat · 29/06/2008 10:48

remembering my busisness studies course yrs back, is it not meant to be fit for use it was designed for.

ie to be worn in the sun, to be rinsed, ans without the print coming off.

def take it back, and demand a refund.

I don't think you can take back swimwear or underwear

TheBlonde · 29/06/2008 12:24

you can take undies or swimwear back if they fall apart etc
not fit for purpose

Sale of goods act 1979.

Product must be durable, fit for puropse, and of satisfactory quality.

It is not even washable, and the print comes off. Neither durable or fit for purpose.

Take it back. Also, I used to work in the clothing industry. Nothing is tested properly. It will just have had safest washcare label in, and hoped for best...

Also it is not even 6mo, so your rights are even stronger..

So far, I have had a new replacement car, laptop, watch amongst loads of other stuff, just by sticking to my rights.

Don't get fobbed off, by no one else had bought one back crap either....

agree with fizzbuzz. You do need proof of purchase to get a refund so do dig out that credit card statement.

Thanks all, did not need receipt.

The manager asked me if I had ironed it to which i replied 'who irons their bikini'???

So I am now the proud owner of a new bikini
