Been on the bidding list for a 3 bed for nearly 4 years, band C overcrowding and medical, moved us up to band B for overcrowding this year then they decide to remove us off the list cause apparently our income is too high, I don’t really want to say how much on here but basically I’m a stay at home parent and carer to one of my daughter so I’m on uc and carers whilst my husband works full time, they’ve used my entitlement rather than actual pay and ended up pushed well over the limit when in actual fact the numbers that should have been used means we would be £35 over. Anyway we’ve been looking at private rented places we need a 4 bedroom and the private rented 4 bedrooms near me start off around £1500, not a problem we can afford to pay that but when trying to actually apply for one they say some don’t take universal credit carers etc into account it has to be earned income, well please tell me what kind of job you can get now a days that pays £50K+ and we have no one to be a guarantor so we’re pretty much just stuck at the moment and don’t really know what to do. Even with a child with a registered disability and 1 child waiting to be assessed the council still don’t want to help and well it seems trying to find private accommodation that will accept benefits aswell as earned income and somewhere that comes unfurnished seems impossible! Had a few really nice ones to look at but landlord refuses to move the furniture and we can not work around it just feel so fed up right now on what to do my mental health is bad right now because of the housing situation. Any advice on what I can actually do to actually find somewhere suitable?
