Im interested ( maybe because I'm exhausted already!) to know from anyone why are you up already? Is it just work, insomnia, lovely children? Or just to have some quiet alone time before the chaos starts!

Mine, I've given up trying to sleep tonight so have a quiet coffee in the garden...before the chaos starts!

19yo dd had a panic attack. She’s asleep now but I’m WIDE AWAKE.

Good morning
im up, got a coffee, just awake with a head full of stuff to do. Have had a snuggle with the cat though so that was nice. I’ve not slept well this week, maybe the heat isn’t helping. Hope you manage the day without being too tired XXX

Needed a wee at half 2, not managed to get back to sleep. Going to be a very long day.

Naturally get up early. But have woke with bloody anxiety. Friggin hate it.

God knows. Sleep been wrecked since menopause. Am trying to get everything sorted as we leave for family holiday tonight so have to clean the house, prepare rooms/bathroom for dogsitters etc. so yes, probably anxious. Not slept for a second tonight. Gave up at 4am. Looking forward to the holiday but don’t want to leave my dogs at all.

Having surgery today and had to wake up to drink an electrolyte drink. Feeling incredibly nervous.

DH is footie fanatic and as he has just retired, is indulging in as much of the World Cup as possible. I’m not remotely interested but it makes me happy to see his excitement and passion for this competition . Which also means I am indulging his semi nocturnal lifestyle for a month. Unfortunately this means that as a career insomniac who can only sleep with medication, even his tiptoeing into bed at 4-5am wakes me up. He would be mortified to know that I am being awoken at 4 am as he is such a kind thoughtful person. So I have just been and put a wash on. Tidied kitchen etc cuddled/fed cats and come back to bed for a bit of MN and you never know, might get another hours kip if there’s enough amitriptyline left in my system … 3 weeks to the final 😬

stupid hay fever given up trying to sleep now

AngelDog · 19/06/2026 06:27

I've not been to bed yet - currently trying to eat & do bits after the semi-nocturnal child went to sleep a while ago.

PersephoneParlormaid · 19/06/2026 06:29

I was wide awake at 5.15, no hope of going back to sleep. My heart was banging so I must be worrying about things that aren’t worth worrying about.
