Do you write to Mr and Mrs --- and assume they are going to get a joint account soonish?

Also can anyone think of something nice to write in the card apart from just congratulations as my mind has gone blank!

i always write something like "wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness and laughter together..."

ermmm. not actually sure about the cheque names though..

Flamesparrow · 23/06/2008 08:04

Most people Mr & Mrs'd our cheques I think.

I wouldn't put joint names. My db & his dw had a nightmare trying to cash a cheque in their married names as they hadn't got a joint account at that time.

Flamesparrow · 23/06/2008 08:11

If you just address the cheque to the person you are closest to, it will be fine. If you're close to both, pick him - his name will def be ok.

Depends if you know that they are going to be Mr&Mrs X. We aren't, and its a right pain if people decide to send us cheques in those names

Flamesparrow · 23/06/2008 08:12

(only just got your name cmot )

LucyJones · 23/06/2008 08:37

I know they are definitely going to Mr and Mrs X
And we are best friends with both and i'm worried if we put to Mr X only then the bride will think she's been forgotten iyswim!

ask them if they are close friends. they will say 'oh you dont need to and its really not necessary etc but stick with it.

MAke out one cheque for half the amount in his name and the other half in her name .

Or give them cash.
