Bought a present from Amazon for Dh's birthday. Turns out it is the wrong sort (a road cycle helmet, he does mountain biking). I knew at the time it was from a marketplace seller but it is a reputable company with website etc so went ahead without thinking.

Amazon have washed their hands. The seller is not repponding to my emails (sent them via Amazon and direct to website).

I want to return the helmet and have a refund. If no refund available I'd like a credit note.

Anyone got any ideas? TIA

Legally you have 10 days to return items for refund under distance selling laws, I'd contact trading standards

Cack - it was more like 3 weeks between order and 1st query (due to waiting for dh's birthday). Still worth pursuing?

As far as I'm aware the marketplace is not under the same customer service agreements that Amazon proper is. I've always seen it as a bit like ebay - private seleers flogging stuff using the website as a platform.

If you'd bought the wrong thing from ebay you wouldn't expect a refund/redit note and I think it may be the same here. Sorry.
